Core Values

There is one God: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; Who subsist in unity, and also as three separate distinct Persons. ( Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, Acts 7:55, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Hebrews 9:14, John 5:6-8 )

Jesus Christ is God's Son. He was born of a virgin as both God and man, lived a sinless life, died to atone for the sins of human beings, was buried, arose from the grave, ascended into heaven and will literally return to earth. ( Matthew 1:21, John 1:1-3, John 10:30, Philippians 2:5-8, I Thessalonians 4:13-17, I Timothy 3:16 )

The Holy Spirit is the divine helper, assistant, counselor and instructor and His work is to reveal Christ, convict of sin, lead to repentance, guide believers, comfort, strengthen, and sanctify the soul. ( Matthew 12:28, Luke 4:18, Acts 1:8, Romans 8:9-11, I Corinthians 2:10-14 )

The Bible is God's Word, without error, and is the sole authority for life. ( Romans 15:4, 2 Timothy 3:15-17 , Hebrews 4:12, 2 Peter 1:20-21 )

Human beings are the special creations of God, made in His image. They fell through the sin of the first man, Adam, and all human beings are sinners in need of salvation. ( Psalms 8:4, Jeremiah 17:5, Matthew 16:26, Matthew 19:17, Acts 17:26-31, Romans 3:23 , Romans 5:12, Ephesians 2:1-22 )

Salvation is by God's grace (unmerited favor) through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. The Bible uses many expressions for this act of sovereign grace: "salvation," being "saved," "believing," "turning to the Lord," "receiving the word of God," "repentance," "becoming a new creature," and being "born again." Each term illustrates a different angle of the salvation experience. ( Matthew 9:13, Luke 24:47, John 3:3 , John 15-17, Acts 8:14 , Acts 20:21, Romans 10:9-13, I Corinthians 15:10, Ephesians 2:8-9, James 2:14-26, II Peter 3:9 )

Baptism is by immersion after salvation and is done in obedience to Jesus Christ's command. It symbolizes Christ's redemptive work and our new life in Him.  ( Matthew 28:19, Mark 1:9, John 3:23, Acts 2:41, Romans 6:3-5 )

Communion is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming. ( Matthew 26:26-30, Mark 14:22-26, I Corinthians 10:16 )

Each believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ. ( John 14:6 , John 20:17, Hebrews 4:14-16, I John 2:2 , I John 4:10 )

The church is a local body of baptized believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head. ( Matthew 16:15-19, Acts 2:41-42,47 , Acts 20:28, I Corinthians 1:2, Ephesians 1:20-23, Colossians 1:18, Hebrews 10:25 )
